An energizing start to 2026

How we’re approaching our first full year in business – and what we’re most excited about in the coming year

It’s hard to believe that this time last year, INaudio had not yet launched. Now, we have a team of 50+ people delivering on our promise: getting audiobooks heard. 

We began 2026 with an all-team kickoff embracing our core values (inventive, invested, inspired, intentional) and how we live them in our work. The theme that came up most was newness: new features, new business models, new places to reach listeners. We’re proud to have brought together a team that’s full of entrepreneurial, outside-of-the-box thinkers who are chock full of ideas for delivering newness to the audiobook space. Our work now is making that happen.

To that end, we also started our year talking a lot about our 2026 goals, which - without getting too in the weeds - tend to fall in a few categories, all oriented around enabling our team to create newness for our partners. Here’s what you can expect us to be working on this year:

Streamlining our technology for a better retailer experience

The audiobook consumer space is changing rapidly, as listeners have shown an appetite to access audiobooks across their day to day habits. This presents an enormous opportunity for retailers, and we intend to make it an easy opportunity as well. Think easy access to new business models and more automated systems so that retailers can scale their businesses to more listeners, faster.

Creating more opportunities for publishers

In tandem with our work to improve the retailer experience, we’re also focused on making sure publishers are able to take advantage of those new ways audiobooks are reaching listeners. We’re currently growing our publisher partnerships team and plan to begin diving deeper into areas like discovery and merchandising support.

Leveling up author tools on Voices by INaudio

New features, you said? We’ll be making significant investment this year in expanding the tool set that we provide to independent authors via our Voices platform. The baseline toolset for audiobook distribution is a solid start, but we have ambitions to provide more detailed data and reporting, more ways to take advantage of merchandising and promotional opportunities, and overall updated design to make publishing an audiobook easier and more intuitive.
